The Affiliate Trust was formed to meet a need in the Internet marketing industry. That need has gone unmet far too long and begs for action.
Affiliate marketing is defined as a partnership whereby affiliates are compensated for delivering Internet shoppers to Internet merchants for the purpose of enhancing sales volume. Many marketeers exploit vulnerabilities in the affiliate marketing model to leverage gain through unethical, unscrupulous, and even illegal means. Sadly, those organizations purported to be trusted third parties are proving to be unreliable in enforcing their own terms of service and are partaking in the profits of the offending affiliates even to the extent of harboring the wrong doing. These third parties include affiliate networks such as LinkShare, CJ (Commission Junction), and others.
Affiliate Trust will meet this challenge through media presentations, investigations, incentives, and business to business relations.
